Trench Safety Stand Down 2024
OSHA has made reducing trenching and excavation hazards the Agency's Priority Goal. Trench collapses, or cave-ins, pose the greatest risk to workers' lives. California State University Dominguez Hills OSHA Education Center, in partnership with Trench Shoring, will be hosting a stand-down to support the Trench Safety Stand Down and raise awareness on cave-ins prevention. During this event, we will provide valuable information to participants about current excavation requirements and safety procedures for working in trenches.
Topics include:
• Top 10 mistakes made by contractors while excavating
• What are the must-have elements of an Effective Trenching and Excavation Shoring Program
• Tips on how to be more effective in implementing the fundamentals on the jobsite
• What is needed to have consistency on a daily basis on the jobsite with Trench and Excavation Safety
• Discussion and Q&A
Attendees will be able to attend this event in-person at California State University, Dominguez Hills, or live-streamed via Zoom. The event is free and open to the public; in-person attendees will need to pay a $10 parking fee to park on campus.
